Eric Jr Racing, previously referred to as "Low Tech Racing", all began with Eric Johnson Sr. Jr's father, Eric Sr, raced Street Stocks at Portland Speedway prior to It's closing and soon retired from racing in the early 2000's. 

Since Eric Jr could talk, he showed interest in racing. Starting at the age of 10, Eric trained and practiced on racing Simulators like iRacing. The Johnson family quickly became diehard race fans but back in 2018, Eric Jr was given a chance to prove himself in racing for the first time. With the help of his family and friends, the Johnson family prepared a car and Eric Jr made his racing debut in 2019 at South Sound Speedway. 

Although the year held countless laps of slow and steady learning, Eric won a race along with being awarded "South Sound's Rookie if The Year". Eric also went on to win the SSS iRacing ESeries Championship that same season. 

After the Pandemic, Eric has began racing again in 2021 with great success winning 6 of the first 9 trophy awarding races at South Sound Speedway and finished out the year with his 10th win. Alongside with this, Eric has since made his ARCA West Series Debut in the No.19 Chevrolet for Bill McAnally Racing running 4 races in 2023 finishing in the Top 10 twice including his series debut at Portland International Raceway.

With much to learn, Eric currently chases every racing opportunity he can find in hopes of someday reaching his dream, becoming a Full-Time Professional driver in a racing series such as NASCAR, IndyCar, IMSA, TransAm, etc. With the help of many, Eric is now a part time driver for BMR as well as EJR, Pro Drive Racing, and the KBR SpeedShop.
